An intesting lightweight 100mm brushless racer is announced by awsome with the mini F100: https://www.banggood.com/AWESOME-MINI-F100-100MM-FPV-Racing-Drone-ARF-Omnibus-F3-OSD-5_8G-25mW-Blheli_S-10A-600TVL-Camera-p-1171652.html. If the general electronic elements are the same as other competitors (F3 Omni+ OSD, 10A ESC BLheli_S/Dshot 600, 600TVL 25mW 48CH AIO camera). To save some weight, 1103/7500Kv motors are installed. The weight announced is 47g without the LiPo and with 2S 500mAh battery so should turn around 67g. The FPV camera seems well protected and the thickness of each arm about 2mm. With the propguard, can maybe be used indoors…. Maybe a small hope to run it in 3S… Wait & See. Specification: Brand name: AWESOME Item model: MINI F100 Wheelbase: 100mm Wing length: 60mm Motor: 1103 7500KV ESC: 10A Blheli_S Flight controller: Omnibus F3 Propeller: 2035 FPV Transmitter: 5.8G 25MW 48CH Camera: 600TVL Color: Black / white Body size: 85x100x38mm Weight(without battery): 47g Package Included: 1 X MINI F100 FPV Racing Drone 4 X Propeller (2XCW 2XCCW) 1 X 2S 500mAh 25C Lipo battery Cet article NEWS: AWSOME MINI F100 est apparu en premier sur Drone-Maniac !!!!!!!. INTRODUCTION The Cheerson CX-70 prerosaurs is a very original quadcopter machine in the sens that both the radio and the quadcopter can be foilded around each wrist respectively. The CX-70 is a brushed FPV 2.4G WiFi based quadcopter including altitude hold sensor. Thanks to some new advanced features in the app, the machine can be controlled in selfie mode and even integrates a basic path planner. Let’s check this new bundle. BOX CONTENT + 1 x Cheerson CX-70 + 1 x Transmitter (using 1S 120mAh Builtin LiPo) + 1 x 2S 350mAh proprietary battery + 1 x Watch module + 1 x Charger + 4 x Spare props (2 CW, 2 CCW) + 1 x Screwdriver + 1 x Prop remover wrench + 1 x USB to microUSB cable + 1 x Instruction manual (English) OVERVIEW The CX-70 can be enrolled around the left wrist while the radio more on the righ wrist thanks to two metallic foldable bars. Among accessories, a basic digital Watch which can be clipsed instead of the CX-70’s lipo. -FRONT VIEW The general design of the prerosaurs is a prehistoric bat with large wings. When unrolled, arms are still flexible a bit but no risk mid-flight to fold them by accident. The distance between front and rear motors are super narrow versus the distance between left and right. Can the stability, controbilility can be impacted by such design ? Two small blue lights installed on front. It’s just ok to be visible in night time but hard to see them in strong daylight condition. At least, we have different colors between front and rear props. -SIDE VIEW Each wing ends with a plastic element in order to be more “bat” similar. The main battery plastic pads must pressed to remove the central LiPo. -REAR VIEW Two small red lights blinking when waiting the bind, steady solid when bound and blinking fast when LVC is here -UPPER VIEW -BOTTOM VIEW The 2.4G antenna of the WiFi module. Not super well located to maximize the FPV horizontal distance. -WEIGHT 106g in total. It’s ok for a 2S setup and with such large prop. Now the question how durable will be motors and a second one is how easy will be the motor”s maintenance ? Motors and props Brushed motors are installed horizontally main probably some 8.5mmx20mm. A pinion must be here to transmit rotations to the main vertical prop axis. A lot of screws to remove for the motor’s maintenance. They are 2S… so even more fragile in practice. Always think to stock a 1 CW and 1 CCW spare motors. ~ 76mm triblade props !!!! They are huge for suck kind of machine. LiPo A proprietary 2S 350mAh LiPo Camera module A super narrow pinhole camera lens, with a FOV of 60 degrees approximatively The lens’s thread is in M6 format … so impossible corrrently to find a compatible wider lens. Disassembling The 2.4G WiFi daughter module is installed front The 6-axis stabilization invensence module as well as the baromoter (for the altitulde) hold are isoloated from the main PCB by a piece of foam. On the main lower PCB, the mostFET 2310 (2S capable) and the RFchip (identified as a XN297). There us a small hope that this protocol can be deviated one day. Transmitter The controllers offer very short sticks very hard to control the machine precizely. You can arm the machine by pushing the sticks in lower outter directions. Gyroscope calibration can be done in lower rght directions. Four buttons are here for: auto-take off, auto landing, 360 degrees flips and the selection of one of the three speed modes. A small 120mAh LiPo is inserted and advitized to run during 1h30 but in practice, you can’t expect much more than 20-30min. UNBOXING, ANALYSIS AND DEMO FLIGHT The quadcopter can be controlled either by the radio control or the Android/iOS app. If you plan to use the radio, power and bind first with the radio. After you can enjoy the WiFi FPV video feedback via your smarphone/tablet. Don’t expect a super range and super fracerate. Be aware, when also connected to the table, you can loose the radio control and the machine must controled only via the app. In term of altitulde hold, the barometer’s job is efficient. Only mederate drifts in z altiltude have been observed. Unfortunatly for x–y axis, it’s a different story and drifts are rely dépendent of the strength of the Wind. More in presence of Wind, the wings tends to vibrate more creating a lot of jello in video. The rates of the machine are slow whatever the speed mode selected. Be aware in Wind conditions especially in beginner mode. As soon you press the selfie mode control, the machine automatically rotate of 180 degrees and commands are effectively inverted. Photos are effectively in 720p resolution bu video are captured only via the WiFi FPV link in a sub-VGA resolution. As for all FPV WiFi based, the frame rate will drop versus distance with the increasement of screen’s freezings. Anyway, in a radio of 20m, the link is relatively solid. The general light sensitivity of the camera is poor ….. Definitively the CX-70 is a toy for kids but be beware no prop guards are included. CONCLUSIONS In general when a quadcopter tries to integrate extra non-quadcopter feature we have a loose-loose situation …. and for the CX-70 it’s close to be this case. If kids will be crazy about this transportation’s method, the flight performances of this machine are more impacted by Wind due to this original design. More a lot of jellos in video can be observed. Anyway, the CX-70 can represent an original gift for 10 years+ kids. I find the price also a bit expensive compared to other 2.4G WiFi toyquadcopters. PROS + Altitude hold efficient + Selfie mode + Can be controled via the radio or the smartphone + Large triblade props CONS – A lot of jello – Poor video resolution – Narrow FOV – Not wind resistant – Unpresize stick controls – Expensive This quadcopter have been courtesy provided by Banggood in order to make a fair and not biased review. I would like to thank them for this attitude. INTRODUCTION As you already noticed, a ton of AIO FPV cam modules have been introduced since the first FXT 798T, especially the Eachine TX01. If the principle of AIO module is simplicity, sometimes you can’t avoid prop occlusion in the Field Of View. More to make OSD connexion, it can be a little bit tricky. By consequence the idea to separate the camera module from the VTX via a wire can be a good solution for both mentioned problems. The Eachine TX01S represents the “Splitted” version of the AIO TX01. 9cm of wire between the 600TVL NTSC CMOS 1/4″ FPV camera and the 48CH 25mW VTX. Let’s check this new combo. BOX CONTENT + 1 x Eachine TX01S + 1 x Cable 1.25 miniJST-microLOSI connector + 1 x Instruction manual (English) OVERVIEW The camera is simple 600TVL CMOS 1/4″ module with a FOV of 120degrees. The thread is in M7 format. The announced light sensitivity is correct but far from best results with 1 Lux when best cameras can offer 0.0001 Lux. The camera is set to NTSC and no button to swtich to PAL. It’s a drawback IMHO. For example the Eachine revenger 55 got this button to cycle between NTSC and PAL. The camera dimension is 14mmx14mm More than 95mm of wire The VTX chip is a classic RTC6705. A unique button the cycle between the eight Vfreq Inside the current selected Vband. If you press more than 2s, you will cyle between the six supported bands. Weight 3.9g … in total and probably 0.2g-0.3g can saved by shorting wires. Modding the Eachine E010 with the TX01S UNBOXING & TESTING CONCLUSIONS A cheap and relatively lightweight FPVcam-VTX combo ideal for any TinyWhoop machines. No real drawback except maybe than the light sensitivity could be a little bit better. PROS + Light FPV cam + VTX combo + Filter well motor’s interferences + Can work down to 2.5V + Avoid prop occlusion + Extend flight times for TinyWhoop machines + Easy OSD connexion CONS – No PAL/NTSC selection button – Light sensitivity can be better – 9.5cm of wires This FPV-cam have been courtesy provided by Banggood in order to make a fair and not biased review. I would like to thank them for this attitude. You can find it actually for 17USD at https://www.banggood.com/Eachine-TX01S-NTSC-Mini-5_8G-40CH-25MW-VTX-600TVL-13-Cmos-FPV-Camera-p-1139788.html Cet article TEST: Eachine TX01S, the “splitted” TX01 est apparu en premier sur Drone-Maniac !!!!!!!. And the valse of microbrushless FPV racer continues. Here a 94mm machine wiht the Grasshopper-94: http://www.gearbest.com/brushless-fpv-racer/pp_663417.htmlFor the electronic, everything ultraclassic now: F3+OSD flight controller, 1104/7800kv (so a bit fast for 3S maybe), 4-in-1 BLheli_S/Dshot600 ESC board and a classic 600TVL 48CH 25mW AIO FPV camera. The machine comes with a 2S LiPo (only). The design reminds a bit the Wasp design with these lateral carbon structures. Comes without receiver. No information of the thickness of the lower main carbon stucture but from photo I don’t think it’s larger than 2mm. Description: Grasshopper – 94 94mm mini FPV racing drone is a brilliant racer which has an amazing competence in bringing you the unprecedented flight. INTRODUCTION The Sunlytech ALPHAcam is a new lightweight selfie drone able to shoot video up to 4K@30 resolution. It’s a direct competitor of the zerotech Dobby. Like the Dobby, the ALPHAcam integrates also EIS for 1080p@30fps The trick is to reduce the full 4K video resolution to remove external undesired mouvements. This ALPHAcam can’t be really seen as a DJI spark killer in the sense that actually EIS technology can’t correct all the type of mouvemenents than a classic gimbal can. The ALPHAcam uses a 2000mAh LiPo and advertized flight times are promised to be around 20min so far better than the Dobby. Let’s check this new bundle. BOX CONTENT + 1 x Sunlytech ALPHAcam + 2 x 2S 2000mAh LiPo + 1 x Charger + 4 x Spare props (2 CW, 2 CCW) + 4 x Prop guard + 1 x USB to microUSB cable + 1 x Screwdriver + 1 x Wrench remover tool + 1 x Instruction manual (English) Very nice transportation bag for a total weight about 500g. So super easy to carry inside a bag Everything is well packed even prop guards The charger with a USB to a small 3mm DC connector. At the extremity of the DC connector a small light. Solid green when no battery or a full charged battery is plugged, steady red when charging. OVERVIEW Here is the list of the official technical parameters. The stabiluzation outdoors is done by a GPS/Glonass module. Stabilization can be done also with visual sensors, i.e. to be more precise by a small camera and IR sensor. For the dobby, we have a ultrasonic sensor instread of the IR. For the camera part, a 13mpx Sony sensor with a 90 degrees FOV lens is here. In term of resolution, the ALPHAcam is able to shoot videos in 4K but without stabilization. For the 1080p resolution, actually the EIS is automatically turned on. Like the dobby, the control and the FPV link is done by WiFi using either the 2.4G or the 5.8G bands. Be aware, actually only the android app is available. The android APK must be downloaded here: https://www.sunlytech.com/support/download and manually installed in your android system (from 4.3.3). Be aware, the device by default works in 5.8G WiFi band. I found that most of devices, especially european ones… won’t be able to see the machine in the WiFi scanning. [ You will have to turn it into the 2.4G band: First power the machine by pressing more than 3s the front silver button. Wait the second ESC music than short press three time quick the same silver button. If everything is ok, the machine will reboot. The default WPA2 password is “sunlytech” In comparaison with the zerotech dobby, both machine have similar size when the Dobby is unfolded. We have a general X- design with soft and bumped shape on top. Remind me a bit the JJRC 1000A. Both machine have the same type of brushless motor with 14mm of diameter probably some 1103 or 1104 motors. Neither foldable props for the ALPHAcam but they are much more larger. No doubt, it will be much more powerfull and probably will extend flight time. -FRONT VIEW No possibility the set the lens orientation angle for the ALPHAcam. The angle is fixed to something around -22.5 degrees. It means, you will need to fly higher to point your target… and it will be harder to shoot a landscape while moving forward. What’s a pity. Clearly the ALPHAtech is clearly oriented “Selfiedrone”. -SIDE VIEW Each propguard must be clipsed on the motor’s pod. Be aware, I found the clipsing system of each propguard is very thing and fragile. You can easily break it while clipsing (happened to me). A microUSB port is here on the right side to download recorded photos/videos. Maybe also to install a (rescue) firmware ? -REAR VIEW Two seris of 3 pins battery connector can be found at the entry of the battery tray. -UPPER VIEW -BOTTOM VIEW Install in the front dark section, the small VGA camera and IR sensor for the visual positionning. At each exterminity of arm, a piece of rubber plays the role of landing skid. -WEIGHT 140g standalone and only 225g with the battery installed.. so just a fraction of grams more heavier than the zerotech dobby. Motors and props No specificic mark on the brushless motor, probably some 1103 or 1104 type. They offer a 5mm shaft section. 5mm shaft section LiPo Proprietary battery announced to be a 2S 2000mAh LiPo. A strange remark, the nominal voltage is indicated to be 7.6V instead of 7.4V for a classic LiPo. Two batteries are given in the bundle. Are they really some LiPo of LiHv ? Any battery level status light available …. Just the central DC connector. Camera module As mentioned erlier no possibility to set the lens orientation….A nominal 90 degrees of FOV. Since the the EIS reduces the FPV, maybe an initial 120 degrees would have been a better choice since this machine will be mainly used with EIS. A raw 1080p@30fps with EIOS sample and a raw 4K@30fps sample (no EIS available) UNBOXING, ANALYSIS AND DEMO FLIGHT In the interface a lot of options are directly available. For example, you can switch between a “classic” quadcopter control or into a selfie drone mode. You can also switch outdoor between visual or GPS positionning. Indoors, only the visual will be avaialbe. Generally, for the GPS, battery, microSD card status, when it’s green everything is ok. Turn to yellow with low values then in red. For the battery level, I woud prefer more to read a pourcetage. For the first take off, with visual positionning, the machine hovers perfectly.. First remark is much much more quiet than the zerotech dobby. Clearly the controls are much more responsive too …especially the yaw control. Maybe too much for a beginner. In GPS mode, I observed some drift… You need absoluptly to perform a compass and gyro/Accelero calibrations to have steady hovering. In 4K, the recorded video are sharp and precise a good new for a such compact sensor. At 30fps, no miracle with fast transitions… Of course without EIS even in calm Wind conditions, the video will be shaky. With 1080p mode, the EIS is automatically turned on as soon as the recording start. It’s reducing a lot the FOV, IMHO abount 60degrees. You will need to perfectly center the object. In the other hand, the EIS works very well …. at least in calm Wind condition….. With strong Wind, it’s complete different storry… Maybe the MCU is not powerfull eanough to correct such fast mouvements, but the video can be blurry Here is the complet video how to install and use the appz. In general, I like it but it’s far to be a perfect polished software. A lot of thing must be added/updated. One thinh annoying for example. If you need to land manually, the motor don’t stop despite keeping the throttle virtual sticj low. You need to action a landing procedure. Generally to run an action, you need to move a slider to the right. In practice, I don’t find this way super easy. I would prefer a simple button. In the air, with GPS positionning the machine hovers steady. Except when once the GPS reception lost some satellites and the machine started to shift/drift. In general, it’s super fast to fix satellites (< 30s). The FPV link with the 2.4G frequency is about 0.3s. Maybe it's faster in 5.8G but I coudn't test it. The machine can fly relatively fast, in fast, it's much faster the the zerotech of the J.me for example. Probably to sensitive for a beginner IMHO especially in tiny spaces.. No problem of broken WiFi link within a radius of 50m and since the machine it's small it's hard to see it beyond this distance. Really in moderate Wind, the EIS works is impressive, far Superior to the zerodobby. Recorded videos are nice.. Recorded files are annouced to be at 30fps but I had problem to synchroize them with some other 30fps sources. Like Q101, after 7-8min of flight, I had some "Temperarture alarm" msg from the interface..... and if you continue fo fly in such condition,s the videos will be spoiled with artefacts. IMHO, the battery is warming too much and transmit heat to all the rest of the system. It means you will have to land and cool the machine ..... If 20min of flight were promised they can't be continuously actually. I don't know if a firmware can fix that.... I am doubtfull. In practice, With the same battery I was able to flight about between 14min up to 16min. Finally in the current Apzz and firmware, all smart flight modes are not yet here.... No follow me, mission planning, orbit mode, selfie flight mode... It should come relatively soon... We hope too. CONCLUSIONS On the paper the ALPHAcam is the zerotech killer and from first early resuts we can have from the current appz/firmware release, the EIS results in calm Wind conditions are impressive… almost jello and vibrations free… but not (yet) reaching results of the DJI spark. The machine is silent and comes in a very nice and transportable packaging. It’s superlight also. Anyway, to be really enthousiast, the ALPHAcam need urgently to solve the “temperature alarm” problem. I am not sure a GPS will be able solve that… I hope at least. Al modern smart flght mode are currently missing too. Generally some minor détails need to be solved too mainly in the Appz interface. If they managed to fix fast all mentionned problems, it will be definitively a Zerotech Dobby Killer. PROS + 225g smart selfie 4K drone + EIS more efficient than the Zerotech Dobby + Silent machine + > 16min of flight time + Nice Interface + Spare battery + Nice transportation bag CONS – HEAT TEMPERATURE ALERT AFTER 7-8MIN OF FLIGHT TIME – No possibility to set the lens orientation (fixed to ~ -22.5 deg) – No advanced flight modes currently implemented – Too fast yaw rate – 5.8G WiFi not visible with all devices – No iOS app yet – Fragile prop guard clip – Motors don’t stop after a manual landing (need to press the landing button to stop them) This quadcopter have been courtesy provided by Banggood in order to make a fair and not biased review. I would like to thank them for this attitude. INTRODUCTION After to popular success Bugs3, a great RTF entry model brushless quadcopter, MJX are now introducing several new machines. Among them we can find the MJX Bugs 6. It’s also a 2S 250mm brushless quadcopter but with the possibility to welcome a FPV cam combo able to record videos at 720p resolution. Clearly the Bugs 6 can be seen as the Bugs 3 FPV revision. In complement of the FPV DVR cam module, a 4.3″ 32CH 5.8G FPV monitor module can be added as well as a FPV goggle mask. In the full configuration, you a complete FPV RTF package targetting intermediate pilots who want to acquire first FPV feedbacks. This machine represents a direct competitor of the Cheerson CX-91 and the Hisky HMX280R. Let’s discover this product BOX CONTENT + 1 x MJX Bugs 6 + 1 x Battery 1300mAh 2S LiPo with XT30 connector + 1 x Transmitter (using 4xAA batteries not included) + 1 x FPV-camera module + 1 x 4.3″ 32CH 5.8G FPV monitor + 1 x FPV goggles mask + 1 x Sunhood + 1 x Charger + 1 x Monitor bracket + 4 x Spare props (2 CW, 2 CCW) + 2 x Screwdriver + 1 x Instruction manual (English) The number of accesories is impressive for the full version. Only missing 4xAA batteries for the transmitter but except that, you have everrything to fly FPV. OVERVIEW The Bugs 6 is a 250mm machine full nylon plastic based. No trace of any carbon element. The general structure is very close to the Cheerson CX-91 one. At least arm’s strucure seems pretty strong and shoud resist pretty well to most type of crash. We have a lower unibody, it means that if an arms break, all the electronic must be removed first to change all the lower broken structure. At least arms are 7mm large. -FRONT VIEW Two large front white LEDs are installed, ideal for night flight of course and to keep your orientation for LOS flights even in strong day lights, they are very visible. By default, the FPV-cam DVR combo is not installed but it takes 2-3min to install it. The Lens is more or less protected by this thin front shock absorber. At least you can uptilt the lens without occlusion in the FPV signal. -SIDE VIEW No specific ports can be found …. so no possibility for example to set some PIDs for the flight controller. It’s clearly a none-open system. The ground clearance is about 5cm. The left side welcomes the 2.4G antenna installed horizontally. The right side can welcomee the 5.8G antenna in the same way… As you already know it’s not the best positioning to optimize long range horizontal propagation. Antenna’s mod is strongly advised. Each Motor’s wires are installed into heatskrink tubes -REAR VIEW Two strong red lights jailing the XT 30 connector, the same as for the Bugs 3. I regret the absence of a powerswitch but the choce of the XT 30 is a really good. -UPPER VIEW A top canopy structure is simply clipsed on four plastic pads. No really need to remove the fours screws (as I uncorectly mentooned in the main video) to access the main electronic and the FPV-camera bay. You will need to open it each time you will want to change the Vfreq of the video module. with antenna mod. On front side the 5.8G antenna and installed rear the 2.4G one -BOTTOM VIEW The battery tray is large 40mm width and 22mm for height. It’s not hard to find a compatible 2S LiPo with XT30 connector who can fit the tray. -WEIGHT 370g in total weight so relatively light for a Full 250mm FPV machine. A good point for crash resistance. Motors and props 1806 brushless motor without any mark. Probably some Emax model. Announced to spin at 1800Kv. 5mm of shaf section A plastic spacer is required with to install correstly the nut on top Nuts with a small circle are for CW motors, without for CCW. Props are non standard in term of thread but any 5mm section should work as soon as also you will install some classic prop caps. LiPo Finally a 2S 1300mAh with a discharge of 25C. Ending with the excellent XT30 connector. Camera FPV module The MJX FPV camera module integrates a 120 degrees FOV lens. The uptilt angle can be set up to +75 degrees and the downtil down to -90 degrees. The light sensitivity IMHO is a little be weak and even in strong daylights, all videos will be a little bit dark. Installed on top of the module a 3-way DIP switch to select one of the eight frequency of the Boscam band. No other band are supported. The VTX outpower is announced to be around 500mW !!! it’s a lot so don’t stay too much on the ground with the battery connected to avoid overheating of the VTX. Be aware, only a class 10 microSD must be used. Unfortunatly in practice, some frame are lost during recordings …. At least the sound is recorded. FPV monitor and FPV goggles A relatively good 32CH 5.8G FPV monitor is provided. No indication about the supported reolution but it’s for sure at least a VGA monitor and probably more a 800×480 model. Contrast and brightness can be set. Even with the sunshade, it’s a little bit hard to see the screen in strong daylight. The “CH” button cycle among the 32 supported channel. If you long press on it, you will run the 5.8G Vfreq scan. Basic OSD information are displayed. The current Vfreq and Vband and a RSSI value for 5.8G part. Very usefull The top right shows the level of battery; No problem to use the monitor during more than 1h. To charge the builtin battery, use the microUSB port. A powerswitch is here on the right side. The 4.3″ monitor must be inserted into the goggles. The builtin Fresnel lens offers a manifying factor important (> x3) and even if no distance lens ajustement is possible, I found the focus pretty good. Better than some last Eachine models for example. The opening dimensions are 115mmx50mm… so a little bit tricky to used glasses with. The facial sponge is soft and the noze section relatively well adapted for large nozes. Transmitter The classic large chassis transmitter for MJX with a huge power green LED. Only four shoulder buttons are available. No LCD display. From left to right, we have the speed button with only two speed modes beginner/expert(default), the arming button: short press to arm, long press to desarm (I would prefer the opposite for safety), the 360 degrees flip button: press and hold this button while indicating with the right stick the direction of your flip and the last button triggers photo shooting if shortly pressed on recording if pressed more than 2S. We can deeply regret that there is no extra button to select an acro flight mode for example …. At least rechargeabke NI-MH batteries are working with. The bracket to attach the monitor on the radio is also provided We can find the A7105 RF chip on the top of the radio. The same as for the Bugs 3 but unfortunatly the Bugd 3 radio is not compatible with. They probably changed a minor detail in the binding stage. There are a lot of chances that one day this protocol will be deviated. UNBOXING, ANALYSIS AND DEMO FLIGHT Firt thing you will have to do with the Bugs 6 (as for the Bugs 3) is to bind the radio with the receiver. For than power first the quadcopter than press and hold the red top left button of the radio. As soon it’s bound, the green light should turn off. By default you are in expert mode (two beeps). So for the first time press the “H/L” once to return in beginner mode. The machine start to hover at least from 45%-50%… immediatly you can feel that it’s not as powerfull than the Bugs 3 can be. First punch out confirm this feeling … The 2S battery despite being 25C can’t give huge boost. Now probably as for the Bugs 3, a 3S battery can be replaced but PIDs are not optimized for 3S LiPo so a lot of wobbles/instabilities can be found in 3S. The beginner mode is slow especially for the ruddler command. The machine flies smoothly, not big problem can be felt that’s good. It’s a silent machine too. That’s great. With the expert mode, the machine flies much faster of course …. but is-it a reocket ? Absoluptly not …. It’s fast but not impressive. Slower than the Bugs 3 for example. Due to the only presence of an “angle” 6-axis stabilized flight mode, FPV and recorded videos are super sensitive to the Wind conditions. A lot of bounce back can be reported. With the antenna’s mods, both the FPV and control range are great (> 250m without problem). I am positively surprized by the sensibility of the builtin receiver and flying with this FPV mask is very easy!!! It’s absoluptly not a gadget. Flight time are maybe far from the promized 12min. I was closer to 9min…. a negative point versus the Bugs 3. I really appreciate the telemetry feedback of the Bugs 6. You radio will start to buzz as soon as your LiPo reach around 7.3V. You will be able to fly above 1.5 extra minute. The radio buzzes also when the 2.4G control range is weak. In case of lost control link, the failsafe works perfectly. The machine will fall from the sky within the first two seconds. CONCLUSIONS This machine targets intermediate beginners who want a first full complete FPV RTF solution and are afraid to fly acro only. The Bugs 6 is more a FPV cruizer to have fun FPV feelings in large open spaces surrounding high trees. It’s not a super rocket machine, lack a bit of power but it’s stable and ly smooth. Relatively crash resistant despinte being fully nylon based due to its relatively lightweight. Both the FPV and control range are good, largely enough to main type of field. The machine is probably less nervous than the Cheerson CX-91 can be. The main advantage I woud say of the MJX over the Cheerson is the telemetry feedback of the MJX product and its price, about 150$ for a complete FPV system it’s not bad at all. PROS + Full complete RTF packaging + Brushless cruzer + Telemetry buzzing feedback + Good control range (> 300m) + Good FPV range + Good 4.3″ 32CH FPV monitor + Confortable mask + Strong front white ligths CONS – No acro mode – Not powerfull and fast as the Bugs3 – Poor light sensitivity of the camera – Frame lost in the 720p recording – Radio protocol incompatible with the Bugs 3 – Boscam band only supported by the VTX This quadcopter have been courtesy provided by Banggood in order to make a fair and not biased review. I would like to thank them for this attitude. You can find it actually for 150USD at https://www.banggood.com/MJX-Bugs-6-Brushless-3D-Roll-Racing-Quadcopter-RTF-p-1148467.html? INTRODUCTION The Eachine Revenger 55 is a compact 55mm 2S brushless FPV racer with a builtin prop guard dedicaced for both indoors and outdoors applications. For the electronic, we can find a TinyFish F3 board, 4-in-1 6A BLheli_S/Dshot 600 ESC board and a 600TVL CMOS camera + 25mW 48CH 5.8G VTX bundle. Four choices of receiver are proposed: i) FrSky D8 w/ RSSI, ii) FrSky D16 w/ RSSI, iii Sprektrum DSM2/DSMX and iv) FlySky AFHDS-2A. Let’s review this new flying machine. BOX CONTENT + 1 x Eachine Revenger 55 + 1 x 2S 400mAh/30C LiPo with JST connector + 4 x Spare props (2 CW, 2 CCW) + 1 x Screwdriver + 1 x M2 allen key + 5 x Rubber band + 1 x Battery strap + 1 x Velcro band + 4 x Spare M2 hexscrews + 1 x Instruction manual (English) OVERVIEW The full list of the electronic element…. maybe we can regret the non-presence of betaflight OSD… AFAIK, last version of the TinyFish is/will including such chip Definitively a super compact machine based on a X- carbon frame sourrounded by a nylon plastic guard. Inside, we can find a “tiny” tower with 3 layers + a fourth one corresponding to the receiver one. In the tower, the FinyFish FC is the third one more on the top while the ESC seems the be the bottom one. The middle one probably a voltage ragulator. More than 2mm for the lower carbon frame !!!! It’s super solid.. No risk to break it It’s another story the prop guard system… Don’t be wrong it’s not a fragile element but won’t resist to a major frontal crash for sure My general feeling about the durability of the machine in hands are more positive than the ones I had from the photos. -FRONT VIEW The light blue/cian color is dominant. Four half-circle sections define the prop guard. Between the two front, an horizontal nylon holding the FPV camera moint. It’s possible to ajust the tilt orientation. The lower position of the camera will minimize the prop occlusion in the FPV feedback. It’s a good point. -SIDE VIEW A microUSB port on the left side and just below a buzzer. A very important element. The right side welcomes the 25mW 48CH VTX. A single button to cycle between the eight Vfreq Inside the current band (green light) and if long press, you can select one of the six Vbands. -REAR VIEW JST connector -UPPER VIEW The FrSky D8 receiver which can be bound classically by first press and hold the bind button while powering then run the binding procedure on your compatible radio. Notice the RSSI is sent on the last channel. What a pity than an OSD is not yet implemented in ths tiny tower. Exist also in FrSky D16. -BOTTOM VIEW A small carbon plate where you can attache easily the provided rubber band to hold your battery. With the battery installed -WEIGHT Close to 74.6g in total … so limit for indoors applications but still ok. Motors and props Compact 1102/11500 Kv are installed. After each flight, motors are a little bit warm so I don’t think both motors and 6A ESC will support 3S. Props are the same than the Aurora 68, some 38mm model. LiPo Also exactly the same 2S 400mAh LiPo given with the Aurora 68 bundle. Announced to be 30C as discharge rate. Unfortunatly as we will see in practce, don’t expect much more than 2min30 of flight time… It’s really poor Camera module No more an AIO but a combo with thos 600TVL CMOS camera. The FOV is about 120 degrees so not so wide. I really liked the color rendition really vivid and the light sensitivity a little bit better than average; A good element IMHO. You can perfectly ajust the uptillt angle but above 25 degrees, you will start to see the extremity of the prop guard in the video. On unique button. Short press on it to Mirror the video, long press to cycle between NTSC and PAL video modes. UNBOXING, ANALYSIS, BINDING, CONFIGURATION AND DEMO FLIGHT THe machine comes with BF 3.1.0 installed for Omnibus FC… a little bit strange since it’s a TinyFish FC. So which board to select to upgrade BF, it’s still an open question. We need first to find the boot pads on the FC before to attempt any flashing. Dshot 600 is turned on by default and the FrSky D8 is correctly configured out of the box. No specific PIDs or rates have been optimized, there are the default BF 3.1.0 ones. The FrSky D8 receiver send at least the RSSO via telemetry and I can’t confirm yet that the Vbat is also transmitted (usefull to set a buzzer alarm on your radio) The throttle stick must be pushed over 45% to take off and we can understand immediatly this machine won’t be a real beast. Punchout are cprrect that’s all, not impressive like they can be for the aurora 100. What else we could expect from 1102 motors with 38 mm props ? Don’t be afraid it’s not castrophic and acro figures can be done without difficulties but with a minimum of altitude. I advise to push rate above 900 deg/s or even 1000 deg/s to flip & rolls relatively fast. The machine with default betaflight settins flies well no real bounce backs phenomeneas can be reported. At leasat one major drawback can be noticed: Despite 2.23mm of thickness, the machine drift versus time in angle mode. Softmount mod will be a must to do. No problem in acro. Absoluptly no Jello in the video…. the machine is numble depiste the little inertia you can feel. I crashed many time nothing broke. But aware about the clearance between the prop and the guards, maybe a factor to break a prop in case of contact (after a crash for example). Flight time are poor, around 2min 30… and the buzzer start to ring after 30s. First only after high throttle inputs, then more permanently…. Maybe by removing the prop guard, 3-4g can be saved. It won’t boost drastically the machine …. but it can help a but. For indoors flights, since the machine drifts versus time an angle mode…. it can be very painfull….. So without softmount mod, the Revenger 55 is more an outdoors flyer. CONCLUSIONS A compact 55mm brushless machine relatively durable with a builtin prop guard. For outdoors acro applications, the machine flies well out of the box and I really appriciate the rendition of the FPV camera. Unfortunatly two main drawbacks can be listed for the revenger 55: i) poor flight time (2min30s) and drift in angle mode annoying indoors flights in tiny spaces. PROS + Compact 55mm machine + Can be flew indoors + Good FPV cam + Buzzer + F3 TinyFish (w/o OSD ) + BLheli_S/DSHOT 600 ESC + RSSI telemetry + Jellofree CONS – 2min 30s of flying duration – Drift in angle mode – Lack a bit of power – No OSD Dump_ER55_BF_3_1_0 This quadcopter have been courtesy provided by Banggood in order to make a fair and not biased review. I would like to thank them for this attitude. INTRODUCTION The RealAcc Horns 100 is probably one of the most original FPV racer I ever reviewed. Why ? because it’s a 3D FPV model. First if you don’t own the Skyzone Sky02S V+ goggles, it’s useless to read this review. The Horns 100 is only compatible with these goggles. It’s not supporting any 3D goggles using SBS (Side By Side) technology (Fatshark, Aomway). So the Horns 100 is a 2S 100mm brushless micro FPV quadcopter with two 600TVL 25mW 48CH AIO FPV systems seperated of 60mm for the stereoscopic effect. The other electronic elements are now classic: F3 omnibus FC with a buitin OSD, 10A BLheli_S/Dshot600 ESC in a 4-in-1 board, a buzzer. Four choices or receivers are proposed: i) FrSky D8 w/ RSSI channel, ii) FrSky D16 w/ RSSI channel, iii) Spektrum DSM2/DSMX and iv) FlySky AFHDS-2A. I will review the FrSKy D16 version. Let’s check this bundle. BOX CONTENT + 1 x RealAcc Horns 100 + 1 x 450mAh 2S LiPo Rated 80C + 4 x Spare props (2 CW, 2 CCW) + 4 x Rubber band (for the AIO camera) + 2 x Spare double side tape circular band (for fixing the AIO on the camera support) + 1 x USB to miniJST cable + 1 x miniJST to microUSB extender cable + 1 x Velcro band + 1 x Screwdriver + 1 x M2 allen key + 2 x Instruction manual (English) Among accesories, we can find some spare screws for attaching motors to the frame of AIO camera to the carbon plate and some hexscrews for the props. A small velcro bands to fully secure the battery installation and four small rubber bands to hold perfectly both cameras OVERVIEW The general design is original. A long central carbon frame with rear motors installed upside down probably to avoid any contact with respective props and cloverleaf antenneas. Good news, all carbon elements are 2mm.. and look solid. The machine comes with props and AIO cameras not installed. Use the M2x4mm white screws for the two AIO cameras and the M2x7mm for the props. Both front and rear are 2mm also the vertical sides Even the carbon plate holding both camera seems relatively solid. Obviously the rear props will be probably more potentially breakable due to their respective positions. The inversion of rear motors changes nothing in the prop installation layout compared to a classic quadcopter. “R” props for front left and rear right, “L” for front right and rear left. -FRONT VIEW The look is great, a kind of rhino IHMO with two excentred eyes. the main originality of this machine is the presence of a dual AIO FPV modules separated about 60mm more or less the same distance betwen two human’eyes -SIDE VIEW The left side welcomes the 1mm 4position microJSB connector in order to connect the Horns 100 to betaflight The presence of this connector means we have the V1.1 of the Eachine Minicube (eliminating completly FoD ?). Just above it, the FrSky D16 receiver installed on some small piece of foam. Versus the Scops 100, no yaw board ajustement must be configured/corrected. The FrSky D16 received is installed just above the F3 Omnibus board on some circled piece of foam The bind button is almost invisible can be found in the lower right position of the reciever. As for all FrSky receiver, to enter into the bind mode, keep pressed this tiny button with a screwdriver for example while powering the machine. Think to turn on the RSSI in the last channel on your radio options if you want to enjoy of the RSSI in the OSD interface. -REAR VIEW The two antenneas of the FrSky Receiveer are really long. They installation should be secured with zipties and heatshrink tubes for example. No rear lights compared to the Aurora’s series. -UPPER VIEW The buzzer is well enclosed into the frame -BOTTOM VIEW To secure the battery installation, the battery strap is not enough, too thin in practice. To proceed, you will need to untight the four bottom hexscrews and the M3 model. You will need also to use the velcro band provided in the bundle to completly secure the installation. -WEIGHT With the battery, strap and velcro band installed the machine is about 107.7g So for a simple 2S setup it’s pretty heavy. In comparaison, the aurora 100 weights 94.3g so close to 13 extra grams. It will impact for sure both thrust and flight time capacities Motors and props M2 x 4mm screws hold each motors some 1104/7500Kv…. . Should be still ok for 3S setup but you need probably to have the lowest D values you can. The same pentablade 2035 (50mm) props we can find in the RealAcc scops 100, bundle this time in orange color LiPo In practice, it’s exactly the same 450mAh 2S LiPo battery provided in the Aurora 90/100, announced to have 80C as discharge and comes with a JST connector. FPV-Camera module The same AIO FPV module we can find for all the last Eachine/RealAcc models with a 600TVL CMOS camera + 25mW 48CH 5.8G VTX. In practice, the light sensitivity is about 1Lux. The FOV about 120 degrees, so perfect for outdoors flights. Each AIO camera must be completly secured by two rubber bands The rigth module will be plugged to the OSD system. So if for any reason, you want to fly in none-3D mode, pick up the right AIO Vfreq on your FPV ground station. The setting of this AIO module can be done by two tiny switch button. The front one is long pressed select either NTSC (default) or PAL format. The rear one if shortly press select one of the eight Vfreq Inside the current Vband while if long pressed you can cycle Inside the six supported bands. The blue light is associated to the bands while the greean for the frequency index. UNBOXING, ANALYSIS, BINDING, CONFIGURATION AND DEMO FLIGHT The assembling of the props and the two AIO cameras take only a couple of minutes. Be aware to no break any wires for the camera during the installation. No problem to insert the microJST connector for USB connexion even with the props installed. The F3 omnibus comes with BF 3.1.0 installed. Except the receiver part, no specific optimization have been done. We have the default PIDs; rates and OSD layout. At least the board alignement is correctly set to 0 degrees. No bad surprize at take off like it was for the scops 100. When the battery is installed, the battery strap thickness forces the machine to be bent forward. It’s not a big drame and I would say it’s even more a good news for the rear props protection, at least for take of.. The bind button is a little bit hard to reach and the binding procedure more tricky consequence. For the 3D configuration, we must select two Vfreqs for the left and right channels respectively. I advise to use more two racerband Vfeq to minimize as much as possible the interférences between the two sources emitting simultaneously. In practice, I used more two boscam Vfreq without any particular interférences … Inside a radius of 50m As epected with almost 108g, the Horns 100 is not as powerfull than the Aurora 100 for sure…. it’s not castrophic and can still perform some figures without problem but clearly you feel more inertial. With Betaflight 3.1..7, the machine responds pretty well, it’s stable no need to speed a lot of hours to tune PIDS. Let’s focus to the most important part of this review and try to answer: Is the 3D immersion effect effective ? and the answer is YES !!!! for any obkect between 1m up to 10m. Clearly this machine must be used in park with a lot or trees, branches, flowers. You can really separate the foreground objects with backgrounds ones. Branches, flowers seems to “jump” on your face… It’s impressive. If you get altitude, the 3D effect is null … Unfortunatly, we can notice the presence of Jello in the FPV video. Be sure to completly secure the AIO with rubber bands but the carbon camera plate must introduce some extra vibrations in the system. The flight time are disapointing with the 2S 450mAH… 3min :(. This machine must be pushed into a 3S setup… what a pity there is no XT30 connector instead the JST one. CONCLUSIONS A very original model but with a very limited potential audience reserved only actuallu for the SKY02 V+ owners. The 3D immersion of the Horns 100 works admirably for any object situated in the (1m-10m] range. The 3D FPV signal is crips and if you like low riding flights arounds trees and branches, the 3D immersion can bring something really interesting; The Horns 100 is not a bad quadcopter but with 3 poor minutes of flight time, it limit the fun. The 2S setup choice is guilty here. I am not afraid that 3S LiPo can be plugged instead to boost both thrust and flight time. PROS + Efficient 3D immersion for [1-10m] objects + Original design + F3 Omnibus w/ OSD + FrSky D16 w/RSSI (telemetry & OSD) + Solide frame + Great control range + BLheli_S/Dshot 600 + Spare screws CONS – Lack a bit of power in 2S – Short flight time (3min) – 3D immersion compatible only with the Sky02S V+ goggles (not compatible with 3D SBS) – A bit of jello dump_RealAcc_horns_100 This quadcopter have been courtesy provided by Banggood in order to make a fair and not biased review. The valse of the under 100mm micro brushless FPV racer continues. Here is a new 90mm model form KingKong: https://www.banggood.com/Kingkong-FlyEgg100-100mm-Racing-Drone-w-F3-10A-4in1-Blheli_S-25100MW-16CH-800TVL-PNP-BNF-p-1164216.html The design is really cool and reminds me the older Wasp’s serie in the 250mm caterory. The flight controller is a PikoBLX with a F3 arm core but without OSD unfortunatly. A 4-in-1 ESC board with 10A model supporting BLheli_S and Dshot600. Motors are 1103/7500kV so lighter than classic 1104 but are announced to be 3S compatible. For the FPV part, we can find he excellent 800TVL CMOS model we can already find in some other KingKong model. For the VTX, a 16CH with 4 frequencies divided into 4 bands. Notice the output power can be also turn up to 100mW. Four choices of receiver are porposed: FrSKy D16, FlySky AFHDS-2A, Spektrum DSM2/DSMX and Futaba SFHSS. INTRODUCTION Since more than six months, a lot of compact micro brushless FPV racers (<= 100mm) have been introduced and it's hard now to be original since most now are sharing the same type of electronic. RealAcc at least tries to be original in the design. With the RealAcc Scops 100 we don’t have a basic quadcopter but a Y4 machine. What is a Y4 machine ? , it’s a tricopter but with a fourth motor located just below the third rear one. It should offer much more stability than a tricopter while also increasing the yaw authority versus a classic quadcopter design. The Scops 100 is based on a F3 FC board including an OSD chip, a 4-in-1 10A BLheli_S/Dshot 600 ESC board and for the FPV rig a classic 600TVL 120 degrees 25mW 48CH 5.8G AIO FPV module. Four choices of receiver are proposed: i) FrSky D8 with RSSI, ii) FrSky D16 with RSSI, iii) Spektrum DSM2/DSMX and iv) FlySky AFHDS-2A. Let’s discover this new model. BOX CONTENT + 1 x RealAcc Scops 100 + 1 x 550mAh 3S LiPo Rated 40C + 4 x Spare props (2 CW, 2 CCW) + 2 x Rubber band (for the AIO camera) + 2 x Spare double side tape circular band (for fixing the AIO on the camera support) + 1 x USB to miniJST cable + 1 x miniJST to microUSB extender cable + 1 x Velcro band + 1 x Screwdriver + 1 x M2 allen key + 2 x Instruction manual (English) Two spare circulare tapes to secure the installation of he AIO camera into the aluminium mount. Good news, two spares screws for motors can be found OVERVIEW As said in the introduction, the Y4 is a kind of tricopter in the design but with a fourth motor installed below the third rear one. For the two front motors, we have classically a CW for the left and a CCW for the right. Now for the tail, the upper motor is CW while upside down it’s a CCW so pushing the air !!!! All the structure is 100% carbon based… and immediatly you can feel it will be a solid model and the risk to brea ank arm is low -FRONT VIEW A 3 leeaves RHCP antenna can be found on top with a short clearance versus the latteral side. Main probably, the FPV range wll be a little bit impacted by this surounding carbon. -SIDE VIEW When seated on the battery, the ground clearance for the rear props is small, around 14mm … So be sure to land the most horizontally you can to not damage this prop. The mini 1.25mm 4 position JST connector for betaflight connexion. Nothing blocks the access The most original part, the tail with two brushless motors installed upside down. The two antenneas of the FrSky D16 receiver are installed parallel on main structure and on the same side. At least you can install them on each side to improve a bit the reception. Even if with the FrSk- D16 receiver, you can obtain super easily 300-400m of range. Good news, the lower carbon frame structure is a 2.35mm large… and looks super strong to impact. It should also limit considerably jello in videos -REAR VIEW -UPPER VIEW The FrSky D16 receiver with a dedicated bind button and two small light The blue light indicated the power status while the other one turns in flashing red when the model is not bound and in steady green when bound. Front the receiver, a buzzer is installed and can be triggered by default via the Aux3 The vertical carbon plates are 1.5mm So generally the structure seems super super solid. -BOTTOM VIEW The thin battery strap is IMHO not enough to secure completly the battery installation. It’s advised to tape the velcro bands The PDB is seated on four small orange plastic standoff, tall enough to insert the battery strap. The left side shows the ESC’s signal connector -WEIGHT 114g in total with the battery and props installed. For a 3S setup, it’s not so bad, just 4 extra grams versus the Eachine Lizard 95. Motors and props Motors are some 1104 brushless type spinning only at 6000Kv to be perfectly compaticle with 3S setup. Simple short (4mm) M2 screws are attaching motors to the frame Good news, two spare ones are given in the bundle. All props show either a R (for CW motors) or an L (for CCW motors) letters Blade are flexible, less than the Racerstar quadriblades models.. This model of pentablades offers in practice no noticeable Jello… and are just a little bit more solide than Racerstar’s ones. LiPo The same LiPo we can find the for Lizard 95, a strong 3S 550 mAh LiPo with XT30 connector and announced to have 40C as discharge rate. Camera module It’s the same 600TVL CMOS camera with a builtin 25mW 48CH VTX AIO module we can find in most Eachine models. The light sentivitiy is correct the the FOV about 120 degres. The AIO camera is taped on this golden alimimum camera mount and definitively secured with two rubber bands Notice, the M7 lens is slightly shifted to the left but fortunatly no prop occclusion in the FPV live video. The lens orientation can be ajusted from 15 degrees up to 30 degrees, ideal for aggresive FPV flyers For the settings, we have two buttons. The front if long press selects either NTSC(default) or PAL. The rear one is short pressed cycles between the eight frequencies Inside the current selected band. The channel number is indicated by a small green light shifting correspondively. If you long press on the button, you will cycle between the six supported bands. UNBOXING, ANALYSIS, BINDING, CONFIGURATION AND DEMO FLIGHT The Scops 100 comes with Betaflight 3.1.0 pre-installed. In term of configuration, the PIDs and rates are the default ones proposed by BF 3.1.0, no specific optimization. The same for OSD informations, only the default ones. The configuration of the receiver is done correctly and the flight modes switch select acro in upper position, angle in middle position and acro+air mode in lower position. THE BOARD YAW ALIGNEMENT IN NOT CORRECT (SET TO 0 DEGREES) OUT OF THE BOX I decided to install BF 3.1.7 directly to enjoy last features and fixes. I just decreased the D values to 25 and 28 respectively for pitch and rolls. Another very important point in order to display correctly the RSSI on OSD informations. You need to turn on your radio the option to export the RSSI on the last channel. When turned on, the RSSI variation will be visible via the AUX4/5 channel. Before my first flight, I got some negative priors about the interest of a Y4 design versus a classic quadcopter… so at first take off, first think I notice is the stablility of the machine especially in self turning….. no drop like we could observed for some V-tail models…. It’s super super stable… and good news, absoluptly no Jello in the FPV video. The yaw authority is largely improved and it’s absoluptly not hard to turn fast even with a good forward speed. You can have even better precise controls.. I really appreciated it. The machine is powerfull… but certainly less the Lizard 95. The thrust of the read side can’t be as powerfull as a normal quadcopter. The flight time is great too, a good 5min so really not bad at all for a compact brushless racer. I am also very impressed by the receiver performances. While for a FrSky D8 mono antenna, the RSSI go below 60% after 15-20m of rance, here we still a have a solid 75-80%… Just a small negative point, at least, the FPV range is slightly impacted by the shot CL’s antenna stem and the sourounding carbon structure. I forgot to mention than the machine is fast …. We can notice the difference from a 2S setup. CONCLUSIONS I really like this original design… at least a Y4 model not sacrifying stability for the yaw authority gain !!!! You can really enjoy fast slalomming arounds trees with the Y4 design. We have included in the Scops 100, the last electronic technologies: a strong F3 board with OSD, buzzer, 10A BLheli_S/Dshot 600 ESC, 1104/6000Kv 3S compatible… No real weaks points except the need to fix the yaw alignement in betaflight settings… Since there is no antenna’s guard and the lower props is very exposed in a crash, I can’t give a SeByDocky’s award to the Scops 100…. but it was really close to obtain it. PROS + Great and powerfull flyer + Super stable + Great yaw authority + F3 Omnibus w/ OSD + FrSky D16 w/ RSSI channel + Robust frame + More efficient/stable than V-tail + 5min of flight time + XT30 connector CONS – BAD YAW ALIGNEMENT DEFAULT SETTING (must be set to 180 degrees) – Cloverleaf antenna not protected – FPV range a bit impacted by surrounding carbon elements dump_RA_Scops_100_BF_3_1_0 This quadcopter have been courtesy provided by Banggood in order to make a fair and not biased review. INTRODUCTION Since more than 1 month I received from Feima, the J.me a compact video plateform able to shoot 4K@20fps or 1080p@30 videos during 23min!!!. It’s nothing else than a DJI Spark competitor. Now the official release of the machine is announced here: https://www.banggood.com/Feima-J_ME-Follow-Me-WIFI-FPV-With-UHD-4K-Camera-2-Axis-Gimbal-Obstacle-Avoidance-RC-Quadcopter-p-1161989.html. Please find first informations I collected from my first testings. This article will be updated regulary with new elements. BOX CONTENT Actually this is the standard version without the radio control + 1 x Feima J.me + 1 x Li-on proprietary 3000mah 4S battery + 1 x Charger + 4 x Spare props (2 CW, 2 CCW) + 1 x Prop installer wrench + 1 x USB to USB-C cable + 4 x Landing pads + 1 x Instruction manual (English) OVERVIEW Like the dobby, for the standard version we have a pure 2.4G WiFi model controlled by an iOS or Android appz. This setup allows to control and monitor the J.me up to 200m (even 350-400m in open non-urban zones). With the radio control, more than 1km can be achieved. -FRONT VIEW -SIDE VIEW -REAR VIEW The main powerbutton can be found centrally on the left. To turn on or turn off, you need first to short press then long press more than 3s. -UPPER VIEW -BOTTOM VIEW The ultrasonic sensor is installed rear while the small camera for visual positionning front. Often when the machine is below 3m of altitude the visial positionning is prefered versus the GPS one -WEIGHT Close to 561g in total … so clearly almost the twice heavier than a DJI spark and close to be three time more than the Zerotech Dobby Motor and props LiPo Gimbal camera module UNBOXING, ANALYSIS, AND DEMO FLIGHT CONCLUSIONS The Feima J.me is a very nice machine offereing great videos and super flight time. I really like this machine… but is-it a Spark killer ? no… no until they will upgrade (if possible) the camera to shoot 4K@30, 1080p60 videos (the MTK processor should be able to) and turn on also EIS to fix the left-right jitter (the Spark uses EIS to fix it too). PROS + 23min of flight time + Powerfull builtin Snapdragon processor + Super stable machine + 2-axis mini gimbal + Good stabilized obtained videos + Easy orbit/POI + 720p FPV feedback CONS – left-right jitter (only a 3-axis gimbal or adding EIS can remove it) – No 4K@30fps or 1080p@60 – No EIS option – Application and firmware still under developpement – Need 300min of flight time to access to all features – Not (yet) a DJI spark killer This quadcopter have been courtesy provided by Banggood in order to make a fair and not biased review.
