UDI i350HW drone with altitude hold Like many other RC manufactures UDI seems to try copying the popular Syma toys. The UDI i350HW drone looks very similar with the X5HW. The included 640 x 480 camera allows Wi-Fi real-time image transmission which means that you can display on your mobile device (smartphone or tablet) the camera’s video feed. Thanks to the barometric pressure sensor, the UDI i350HW is capable to maintain autonomously its flight altitude at the desired level. This is very nice especially when you want to take aerial videos. Although this drone is powered by an unusable small capacity battery (500 mAh) compared to the aircraft’s size, according to the advertised specs it has about 8 – 10 minutes of flight autonomy. CG035 – Cheapest brushless drone Lately, brushless drones like this CG035 became more and more affordable. This is nice, because brushless motors compared to brushed ones are more powerful and reliable. Although the CG035 drone comes without a camera, the manufacturer provided screw holes on the belly of the aircraft for such upgrades. The design of this new drone reminds me about the MJX X101, which also has similar frontal LED lights and same spooky look. On the top of the aircraft there is a tiny piece of plastic labeled with “GPS”. In my opinion, at this price range, it could be a real GPS antenna. Powered by a high-capacity 2600 mAh Li-Po battery, the advertised flight autonomy of this brushless drone is about 15-20 minutes. Like many other new drones, this CG035 features headless flight mode and one key return to home (RTH) but unfortunately no altitude hold. ZEROTECH Dobby selfie drone with APP control and dual GPS positioning system Certainly, these days selfie photos and videos are still in vogue so it was a great idea for the ZeroTech to come up with such a versatile gadget like this Dobby drone. In order to be extremely portable the ZeroTech Dobby Pocket Selfie Drone it isn’t just small but also has foldable arms. Based on a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU this drone has the computing power of a high-end smartphone. It is incredible how they can fit so many technology in a small airframe of 135 mm x 65 mm x 34mm. Thanks to the optical flow and ultrasonic sensors the Dobby drone has indoor +/- 10cm hover accuracy. Unfortunately, the ZeroTech Dobby drone comes without a psychical remote controller. It can be controlled only through APP (Android or iOS). Being ultra portable, the integrated 4K camera has only electronic image stabilization, not mechanical one (brushless motors) like in the case of the Xiaomi Mi drone. The dual positioning system (GPS and GLONASS) allows intelligent flight modes. Powered by a 2cell 970mAh battery, the advertised flight time is up to 9 minutes, which is not bad for such a small drone. If my teaser made you interested in this selfie drone, it can be found on HobbyWow website for $ 380 including free shipping. My only concern regarding this drone is the lack of spare parts. You can’t even find spare batteries for it. Hopefully the manufacturer will correct this issue soon.
